Eritrea has announced plans to construct affordable housing within a three-year period to address the housing deficit plaguing the East African country. The project aims to alleviate rural-urban migration issues by providing basic needs for rural settlers. The government has already completed some housing projects in the Gala Nefhi District near the capital and is working to add approximately 15,000 more units across the country to mitigate housing problems. The entire housing project will be financed by the Eritrean government, with construction materials produced locally within Eritrea.
