IFC and Pee Cee Holding Ltd Join Forces to Enhance Sierra Leone’s Agriculture

Sierra Leone, April 7, 2025 – The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has partnered with Pee Cee Holding Ltd. (PCH), a prominent consumer goods company, to develop Sierra Leone’s first large-scale farming operation. This initiative aims to enhance food security by increasing local onion production and promoting the growth of other essential crops.

PCA will leverage advanced technology, including precision irrigation and mechanization, to become a model for efficient and sustainable agriculture in Sierra Leone. The modern irrigation system enables year-round crop production, while state-of-the-art storage facilities minimize waste and ensure a stable food supply.

The IFC’s $12 million investment will enable Pee Cee Agriculture (PCA) to establish a 500-hectare farm, boosting onion production to over 40,000 tons annually and increasing yields of staple crops like maize and potatoes. This initiative will enhance food security, create jobs, and empower rural women.
