News from the Burundi’s Ministry of Hydraulics, Energy and Mines is that the Solar Energy and Clean Cooking Fund has been launched. The fund is supported with a $17 million fund from the World Bank. And it is expected to provide off-grid solar products to about 65,000 households and quality stoves for healthy cooking to 300,000 households. The fund will run until 1 March 2026 and it has appointed Bamboo Capital Partners as its manager.
The fund will ensure women inclusion by granting a special portion for female entrepreneurship.
