Kenya’s Tax Amnesty Initiative: A Fresh Start for Taxpayers

The Kenya Revenue Authority has announced a tax amnesty intervention on penalties, fines, and interest on tax-related debts, applicable to periods up to December 31, 2023. While the program commenced on December 27, 2024, it is expected to end by June 30, 2025. Persons with penalties, interest, or fines but no principal taxes owing for periods up to December 31, 2023, and others who have principal tax accrued up to December 31, 2023, but pay the outstanding principal tax debts by June 30, 2025, are eligible for the amnesty, the authority stressed.
