The Seychelles Tourism Department was at the 2nd UN Tourism Regional Forum, where tourism stakeholders from all over Africa gathered to discuss the importance of gastronomy, as a tool for promoting tourism and cultural growth.
Mrs. Bernadette Willemin, a director at the country’s tourism department responsible for marketing highlighted the nation’s dedication to promoting gastronomy as a foundation of tourism, pointing that Seychelles culinary heritage is a special one which blends French, Indian, and Chinese influence. “Seychelles is more than just a beach destination,” said Mrs Willemin. “Our rich and diverse Creole cuisine reflects our heritage and plays a central role in reimagining the visitor experience.”
