Robert Mugabe, the Zimbabwean President  has reportedly said that he will not allow ‘dirty money’ to flow in as fund to his ruling Zanu-PF party.  Mugabe also added that his party’s activities and structures will not be funded by corrupt means. He ordered, “Any ill-gotten resources that found their way into the ruling party’s coffers must be returned”.

All this triggered off when Zanu-PF was reportedly investigating recent claims by Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo that he diverted money from the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef) to the party.

Reports indicated that Moyo and his deputy Godfrey Gandawa allegedly misappropriated a combined amount of $400 000 from the taxpayer funded (Zimdef). Mugabe also said last month that he won’t be protecting any government officials accused of corruption. But those accused, will be given a chance to answer for their crimes in a court of law.
