Zambia 2017 GDP growth forecast improves to 4.3%

The economy of landlocked Southern African country Zambia is all set to take a flight as it is likely to grow at 4.3 percent in 2017; an estimate higher than the budget projection of 3.4 percent.

This progression can be attributed to increasing agricultural production, mining output and enhanced power generation, the finance minister said on Wednesday.

“Growth in 2017 is projected to rise to 4.3 percent. Growth over the medium term is focused to grow to about 5 percent,” Finance Minister Felix Mutati said in parliament.
