With a population of around 1.3 billion in 2019, Africa stands as the second most populous continent in the world, while India with 1.37 billion is world’s second most populated country. In order to realise the economic growth potential of the working-age population, good quality education and skill development are fundamental.
Reiterating the same agenda, the India-Africa Higher Education and Skill Development Summit was organized from August 26-26, 2019, at Eros Hotel, Nehru Place in New Delhi. Amity University was the platinum sponsor of the event.
The Ministerial Delegation included H.E. Ms Gifty Twum Ampofo, Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and H.E. Mr Buti Kgwaridi Manamela, South Africa’s Deputy Minister for Higher Education.
Delegates from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Uganda and Zimbabwe attended the event.
