EU Provides €80,000 Support to Flood Victims in 5 Nigerian States!

The European Union said it had provided support of €80,000 to assist victims of floods in 5 states of Nigeria. The state’s names are Jigawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Sokoto and Zamfara States. This statement was released by them yesterday. Modestus Chukwulaka, a spokesman said in a statement, that the funding was part of the EU’s overall contribution to the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund, which is conducted by the International Federation of Red Cross Societies.

This EU funding supports the Nigerian Red Cross Society in providing relief in such a devastating calamity. This includes cash enabling households to acquire goods for their basic needs. They also make them access to safe drinking water. Also they provide sanitation services to the affected communities. They also promote best hygiene practices.
