Saudi Arabia has said it’s suspending flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ethiopia and Vietnam to guard against a coronavirus variant.

The step is taken after the government permitted fully immunised citizens to travel abroad following a ban on foreign trips that lasted more than a year.

Flights to the three countries are going to be halted from Sunday at 11pm, the state press agency SPA quoted an indoor ministry official as saying. Saudi citizens and residents coming back from these countries are going to be required to quarantine for 14 days, it added.
