Kazungula bridge, the road and rail bridge which links Zambia and Botswana was inaugurated on Monday. It was an establishment of the completion of a multi-million-dollar project. This bridge was started with a vision to ease the congestion at border crossings across the Southern region and to lower the cost of doing business or ventures.

It will automatically increase trade, competitiveness, job opportunities and tourism with other benefits. This bridge is known as the Kazungula bridge, which stretches for 923 metres (some 3,000 feet) over the Zambezi River.This $259 million (213 million euro) construction project began in December 2014. It was co-funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the African Development Bank (AfDB), regional governments and other grants.
