Morocco: Nigeria, Morocco Endorse Protocols for Fertilizer Plant!

The MoU is expected to produce ammonia and phosphate fertilizers from Nigeria and Morocco by 2025. On Tuesday, the Nigerian Government signed an agreement to help the second phase of the Nigerian Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI) in Morocco with OCP-Morocco, a global leader in phosphates and derivatives.

The pact concluded by the delegation of Nigeria, led by Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum, and the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Administration (NSIA), is designed to promote the local manufacture of fertilizers. This development was reported in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Tuesday by the managing director of the NNPC.

“We joined HMSPR Timipre Sylva, OCP Morocco, PFI and the NSIA in Marrakech to endorse protocols that progress the Ammonia plant establishment in Akwa Ibom. We gave gas supply assurances and NNPC will take equity within the venture. Local fertilizer production will get a boost!,” his tweet reads.
