Due to anti-government protests, Ethiopia has lost millions of dollars in tourism revenue since more than a year. The tourism ministry says income from the sector had fallen by more than $7m (£5.5m) over the last quarter alone. This has forcing the government revise its targets as a consequence. In October, the government declared a six-month long state of emergency in a bid to quell the protests.
