From next week on mineworkers living in neighbouring South African countries will start working again. The first load was registered for this process of 9500 mining workers from Zimbabwe and Mozambique. It is screened at home, then quarantined in 14 days in facilities next to the South African mines, until work begins.

Across the African continent, the Africa Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (Africa CDC), the number of confirmed COVID-19 positivity cases surpassed 162.673. In its most recent report, the Africa CDC showed that, as of Friday morning, the number of confirmatory cases of COVID-19 had risen from 158318 on Wednesday to 162673. The pandemic deaths total also increased to 4,601 on Thursday morning from 4,508 on Wednesday.
The Continental Disease Control and Prevention Agency, which has noted that the virus has spread to 54 African countries to date, has also announced a recovery in the continent of some 70,475 people who have received COVID-19.
