The new Colombian President, Ivan Duque Marquez, recently highlighted in Bogota the quality and depth of relations between his country and Morocco.

While receiving the speaker of the House of Representatives (lower house), Habib El Malki, who represented HM King Mohammed VI at the inauguration ceremony of the new Colombian head of State, President Duque Marquez expressed his great respect for HM the King and his admiration for the actions undertaken by the Sovereign at the national and international levels, expressing his wish to have the opportunity to meet His Majesty in the near future.

For his part, El Malki congratulated, on behalf of HM the King, the new Colombian president and wished him success in his high office to meet the aspirations of the Colombian people for further progress and prosperity, said a statement by the Lower House.

El Malki also conveyed to the Colombian President the satisfaction of HM the King with the relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Colombia, which are rooted in fruitful cooperation and mutual esteem, reiterating the determination of the Sovereign to work together with President Duque Marquez to broaden their scope and strengthen solidarity between the countries of the South.

During the inauguration ceremony, El Malki was accompanied by the Moroccan Ambassador to Bogota, Farida Loudaya.
