The African Champions League didn’t disappoint this Saturday. Al Ahly of Egypt booked an area for the semi-finals with a 1-1 draw over South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns. Ahly made a victorious return to South Africa coach Pitso Mosimane against his former club.

In Tanzania, South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs were able to withstand a fightback by Simba in the race to the semi-finals.

Simba started the quarter-final 4-0 down from the first leg and Cletus Chama scored within the 86th minute to win 3-4 to Simba.

But Algerian club, MC Algiers got out at the last minute of the match. CRB was not able to manage its victory after a penalty shoot-out against ES Tunis, who won 2-0. As for the furious semi-finals on June 18, Al Ahly will face Esperance Tunis while the Kaizer Chiefs will face Wydad Casablanca.
