A few days after an investigation found evidence of possible government corruptionBottom of Form, South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma has said he is not scared of going to prison. This was during his first public presence since an anti-corruption report asked for a judicial inquiry. President Zuma, who is 74 years old, is accused of an improper and incorrect relationship with wealthy businessmen though he denies any wrongdoing. On Wednesday, thousands of people took to the streets demanding his resignation.
‘State of Capture’, the 355-page report which focused on allegations against Mr Zuma reported that the Guptas, a wealthy Indian business family who were close to the President Zuma, tried to influence cabinet appointments. The Guptas have not commented anything, but they have previously denied any wrongdoing.
