Ali bongo, President of Gabon, promoted its defence minister Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda as prime minister of the country on Thursday. She is the first woman to be appointed as PM. She already has many tasks to do. She has two major challenges to face; one is declining oil production and prices, which have weighed on growth in recent years, second is the Coronavirus situation.
56 aged Raponda, is the sixth prime minister appointed since Bongo succeeded his father in 2009. She will have to form a new government after her predecessor, Julien Nkoghe Bekale, stepped down earlier in the day.
