Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has attended a swearing-in ceremony for new Constitutional Court judges. This ceremony took place last week just to end a deepening political crisis which has been going on in the country. Many members including diplomats and prominent people were present at the ceremony in the capital Bamako. The president who is 75 years old, wearing a protective face mask and visor was seen in this avatar.
There were 9 new judges- 6 men and 3 women, who were taking pledges to be loyal and worthy. This appointment was aimed just to resolve the political impasse between Keita and an opposition protest movement which is determined to secure the president’s resignation.
