23 people killed in Nigeria’s central state of Kogi after a petrol tanker overturned and caught fire on a busy road. The driver lost control over the tanker and collided with five cars, three tricycles and two motorcycles on the Lokoja-Abuja highway on Wednesday. According to sources, the tanker fell on a car which was carrying a family. They crushed to death before bursting into flames.
23 people were killed in this heart-wrenching accident but one child survived with injuries. President Muhammadu Buhari said in a statement that this accident has been included in the litany of tragedies that have befallen the country. He also said that he is worried about these sudden accidents which cause needless deaths in the country.
