Covid-19 cases update in Ghana

In Ghana, advanced communication tracking and testing are going on and a large number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 have emerged. 

A total of 313 COVID-19 cases were registered with six (6) deaths. In the Greater Accra region, cases are distributed regionally as follows: the majority of them are Ashanti (25), Southern (10), Southern (1), Eastern (1), Upper East (1) and Central Regions (1). Routine surveillance reported a total of 161 cases, while Accra and Tamale record 115 cases in 37 cases from enhanced surveillance and traveller cases in mandatory quarantine. For travellers who arrived 21-22 March 2020, the mandatory quarantine period has ended. Throughout this time a total of 1,030 passengers were quarantined. Of these, during the initial study, 79 (7,7 per cent) were positive and 951 were negative. Of the originally negative twenty- (26), it was found that they converted positively at the exit screening, taking to a total of 105 the quarantined passengers to 10.2%.
