Distribution of voting cards has begun on Saturday and they have time until 18th October (the day of voting) to collect their cards. Since this distribution of cards, some have argued that in the opposition areas the members of National Electoral Commission (CENI) had voluntarily left people off the list. In their defense, Mamadou Baldé, technical assistant of the CENI (independent national electoral commission) said that  many of them had incomplete information. 

So when we finished doing the calculations, anyone who didn’t have all the necessary information and documents were put aside. 12 candidates will be running for president, amongst which current head of state Alpha Condé.The Guinean political scene was shaken up in late August when current president Alpha Condé said he would officially run for a third term. In total over 5 million voting cards should be handed out by the CENI.
