Martin Okoth Ochola, Uganda’s military officer of Police, has refused to apologize for the violence of security forces. This was done against the media groups. Ochola was speaking at a pre-election press conference. He was speaking with senior security officials. It happened on Friday.
He said at the conference that he is not apologetic and the actual saying was “is the police apologizing for mishandling journalists?’ My revert is, I’m very sorry, excuse me, we shall not apologize. But we shall still assist you to not go where danger is.” Campaigning before the January 14 election in Uganda has been marked by brutal crackdowns on opposition rallies.
