The Japanese ship that has leaked about 1000 tonnes of oil near the protected areas of the Indian Ocean Island nation of Mauritius ha split now and now the remaining fuel is spreading into the turquoise waters. It had leaked 1000 tonnes of oil on August 6 and threatened a protected marine park boasting mangrove forests and endangered species.
Mauritius had declared an environmental emergency and assigned many crew members to work against time to stop the remaining 3000 tonnes of oil from spilling. Also, the Japanese have decided to send some people to help overcome this problem.
